October is domestic violence awareness month and a Baltimore salon owner is combining her ingenuity and personal story to help abused women regain their self-esteem.
Diva for a Day, is the unique program by Cindy Tawiah, a domestic violence survivor. The program offers a day of pampering in her salon, to women in shelters. She began her outreach in 2004 and has expanded through partnerships and sponsors.
Tawiah is currently mentoring two salons: one in DC and another in Pennsylvania and is looking for partnering spas and salons across the nation.
