Self taught director Peter Ramsey loved comic books growing up. Now, this filmmaker from South Central, LA has made history as the first African American to direct a CG animated film.

In theaters now, Rise of the Guardians grossed $32 million on its opening weekend. That’s damn good, especially for a kid from Crenshaw with no formal training in film. Kinda reminds me of that funny-looking kid from Moorehouse College…what’s his name? Spike something… 😉
