Missouri Governor Jay Nixon has declared a state of emergency, activating the National Guard in anticipation of unrest in Ferguson. A grand jury decision is expected any day about whether Darren Wilson will be charged in the fatal shooting of Michael Brown last August. Nixon says that the National Guard will assist state and local police as needed… Protesters were out in force today despite the weather urging for an indictment.

Earlier today, I caught a clip of the Chief of Staff for the State Patrol speaking to Ferguson-area schools. He vowed that the police would not be confrontational and asked the same of the youth. I pray that’s true because I don’t think an indictment is coming. It makes me sick to my stomach, but history tells me that it won’t happen. Where do we go from there…
