Today, Empowering Single Moms, Inc. (ESM), the nonprofit for which I serve as executive director, is hosting an open house for our new home. We are so excited!!!! And this National Day of Service is the best day to have it.

The ESM House is a rowhouse located in Wilmington, Delaware, that we purchased in May. Since that time, we’ve renovated all of the shared spaces to make it a warm and inviting place for Single Moms and their children to receive support and love. It features a community room, an emergency food pantry, Career Closet and workshop space.

All future programming will be held in this space. Today, our donors who gave anywhere from $5 to $5,000 will get a private tour of what their generosity helped to establish. Our program participants will have a separate, private showing at a special event.

Wanna help? We’ll gladly accept it. We have a Go Fund Me campaign, Creating a Home for ESM, Inc. There is also an Amazon wish list that allows individuals to contribute specific items to furnish the house. And if you are in the Wilmington/Philly area, we could use some great volunteers and a photographer!
