This is the time for creatives to shine. With all of the devastation, upheaval, and negativity brewing in the states and the world, we need art. Art moves us, it stirs our conscience, and it heals.

I’m not asking for them to take on the burden of these topics as their content, no. I want them, us, to do what we’ve been doing. Express your thoughts, dreams, and vulnerabilities exactly as you have been, in whichever media you work. I’m going to do the same. If some anger poems get written, then so be it. But, I’m going to keep writing to give people a respite, some laughter or a good cry.

Because art and creativity make everything feel better. It challenges us. And it builds community.
