With the impending deadline upon the United States and deficit talks going nowhere, does anyone care if an agreement isn’t reached?

Washingtonians were polled (I would say randomly but as a former statistics major I know better) and the sentiment was unanimous: annoyance, indifference and sick to death of the game of politics. Last night, I met a former co-worker and friend for drinks and it never entered the conversation. I wonder if this feeling extends beyond the beltway…
